Source before number
Every displayed price or population observation should identify its provider or internal record type. Missing source attribution is treated as unavailable data.
Data transparency
Know what each data point can support.
The Hatchery presents collecting research, not appraisals, investment advice, grade guarantees, or promises of future value.
Observation time, not false recency
A provider timestamp describes when that observation was recorded. It does not prove a transaction occurred at that moment or that the amount remains available.
Currency stays explicit
USD and EUR observations remain separate. The interface does not silently convert or combine currencies into a single history.
Sales stay distinct from estimates
Verified Hatchery transactions, licensed comparable sales, provider snapshots, and rolling aggregates are different datasets. Estimates are not labeled as individual sales.
Grades require evidence
Raw-card observations and third-party grades are not interchangeable. Missing grade-company coverage is shown as no licensed value, not inferred from another grade.
Gaps remain visible
Unavailable periods, partial coverage, delayed providers, and unconnected datasets are disclosed rather than filled with synthetic points.
Reading the coverage registry

- A named source and recent successful observation are recorded.
- Partial
- Some requested markets, dates, products, grades, or currencies are not covered.
- Unavailable
- No verified source is currently connected; the interface must not invent a value.
For purchase, sale, tax, insurance, or authentication decisions, independently confirm current information with the relevant provider or qualified professional.
